SUMMARY
Responsible for efficient operation of the warehouse and material storage areas in accordance with Talgo processes and ISO 9000 standards by performing the following duties
Direct, coordinate and plan the warehouse storage and distribution of the products and materials within Talgo Inc manufacturing facilities
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned.
• Direct, coordinate and plan the warehouse storage and distribution of the products and materials within Talgo Inc manufacturing facilities.
• Prepares work orders for manufacturing, repairs and requisitions of equipment.
• Maintains an accurate and complete parts, tools and supply inventory using on-line inventory management system.
• Implements processes to provide positive control and documentation of all parts entry and removal from the storage area.
• Implements modern inventory control techniques, such as kanban, kitting and Just-In-Time.
• Processes all inventory tracking transactions in a timely manner according to Talgo policies and procedures.
• Assists the Purchasing Manager and CFO in quarterly inventory audits.
• Directs, performs and reconciles an annual physical count of all parts and materials.
• Appraises Purchasing Manager concerning the performance of all suppliers and vendors.
• Verifies accuracy of shipments received against invoice, purchase order or contract.
• Organizes and prepares all shipping requirements for the company.
• Resolves discrepancies or disputes concerning inventoried items, materials, parts, components and tools.
• Assists Training Manager with training courses related to warehousing, storage and inventory.
• Establishes procedures for verification of incoming and outgoing shipments.
• Inspects physical condition of warehouse and equipment and reports results to Assistant Maintenance Manager.
• Directs salvage of damaged or used material.
• Maintains a safe working environment in accordance with OSHA, Talgo, Inc., and Amtrak standards at all times.
• Enforces all applicable FRA, OSHA, FDA and other agency rules, regulations, laws and standards.

QUALIFICATIONS

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Associate's degree or equivalent from two-year college or technical school; or two to four years experience and/or training in industrial inventory, procurement or related work; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience working with ERP/MRP systems like SAP, Maximo or similar for the Supply Chain Management
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents such as Bills of Material, invoices, safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively to other employees.
“Spanish knowledge” is a plus.
OTHER QUALIFICATIONS
• Must have experience in meeting difficult deadlines.
• Must have a positive attitude and be a good team player.
• Must be self-directed.
