FIRST CLASS CAR
Talgo First Class cars basically consist of the following areas
and principal elements:
- An entrance vestibule, with two automatic entrance doors, one
at each side.

A
passenger cabin with 29 seats (42 inch seat-pitch), arranged in
ten rows, and four TV screens installed in the ceiling.
- A zone located between the vestibule and the passenger cabin
in which the toilet and luggage storage are located. The toilet
is accessible via the vestibule.
- A service passage zone to the contiguous car adjacent to the
vestibule hosts three cupboards in which the pneumatic and brake
equipment, the regulation and control facility, and the switchgear
for the car's electrical facility are installed. These cupboards
are accessible from the vestibule.
- Each row has three seats, two forming a pair on one side of
the corridor and the other being independent. The row situated
next to the passage zone to the contiguous car has only one seat
on either side of the corridor.
- One of the arms of each seat is installed with an individual
audio console and the switch for the reading light.
- All seats are reclining and those of the eight central rows
are also rotating.
- At the end of the passenger cabin, next to the vestibule, there
is a luggage storage area with shelves for suitcases and packages.
In this area, there is also a trash receptacle.
- On each side of the car, above the windows and along the length
of the cabin, a baggage shelf is fitted at a height of 72.04 inches
(1830 mm.), with a transverse inclination of 7°;, a depth
of 18.11 inches (460 mm.), and free height of 16.53 inches (420
mm.) for the storage of luggage and other items.
- Individual reading lights are installed underneath the luggage
rack.
- Individual outlets are installed in each row for laptop computers
and other devices.
- The floor surface is fully carpeted. The side walls are covered
with phenol resin sheets or similar material.
- The toilet is equipped with a washbasin with an electric tap
and operation by photocell, a vacuum-empty toilet, a small changing
folding table, a mirror, a towel holder, waste paper basket, toilet
paper holder, etc.
- The HVAC equipment, as well as the air distribution pipes,
the water and compressed air tanks and the waste tank, are installed
underneath the body frame.
- The waste tank is fitted with a pipe for suction flushing,
with outlets on each side of the car, and also a lower sump, sealed
by a manually operated valve to allow emptying by gravity.
- The normal lighting for the cabin is carried out with indirect
light made up of a row of fluorescent tubes on each side and two
in the central part of the ceiling. The vestibule is lit with
halogen lights and fluorescent tubes. The lavatory is equipped
with fluorescent tubes. The lighting in the service passage zone
is with halogen lamps.
